Congratulations! You've chosen Keeper®, the leading Password and Data Storage App, to safely encrypt, secure and store your most sensitive personal and business information. Over 4 million users worldwide rely on Keeper to store, backup and sync their confidential data across their devices and computers. All of your records are encrypted using ultra-secure, military-grade encryption and are stored in Keeper's Cloud Vault™.
Before you begin using Keeper, you'll need to choose a Master Password. Your Master Password is the combination of letters, numbers and characters that you will enter each time to access your secured information. The longer and more random the string of characters used for your Master Password, the higher the security strength. We recommend using both upper and lower case characters along with two or more numbers in your Master Password.
We recommend writing down your Master Password and storing it in a secret and safe location. If you lose or forget your Master Password, we will not be able to help you. For security reasons, we do not maintain or have access to our customer's Master Passwords.
If you are an existing Keeper user, make sure you use the same Master Password for all your devices.
Once you have entered your Master Password, Keeper displays your Data Vault screen. This is where you enter New Records or search through existing records.
Each record contains multiple fields for your convenience. You may use all or just a few fields as necessary. You do not have to fill out every field. All of your records are encrypted, secured and stored in Keeper's Cloud Vault.
To Create a New record, click on 'New' or press the ⌘N key.
To Edit an existing record, click on 'Edit' or press the ⌘E key.
To Save a record, click on 'Save' or press the ⌘S key.
To Delete a record, click on 'Delete' or press the ⌘D key.
Your saved records are immediately encrypted and archived in our Cloud Vault.
Keeper for Mac is designed to be simple and fast. In less than 5 seconds, you can login and access your records.
Keeper's Dynamic Search feature dynamically displays relevant records as you type.
Display or collapse folders using the icon
at the bottom left of the Folders display pane.
While it may be easier to use the same password to login to all your favorite websites, it increases your exposure to Internet fraud. We recommend using highly random, long strings of letters, numbers and characters for your passwords. We also recommend using different 'throw-away' passwords for different websites in order to lessen your exposure to Internet fraud.
Keeper's Password Generator enables you to instantly create maximum-strength, random passwords that can be placed into any field of your Keeper record.
To use Keeper's Password Generator, click on 'Generate' or press the ⌘G key.
Keeper's Auto-Launch feature makes it easy to open your favorite websites from within your Keeper records.
From within your selected Keeper record, click on the highlighted URL field. Keeper then launches the URL from your Internet browser. For your convenience, you can Copy the contents from your username or password field using the floating Copy icon
that appears when you mouse over the given field. Then click on the login screen from your Internet browser and right-click on 'Paste' or press the ⌘V key to paste into the desired field.
Take your Keeper records wherever you go. Simply download Keeper to your iPhone®, iPod® or iPad® from the App Store. When prompted on your mobile device, use the same Master Password from your Keeper for Mac account.
To use Keeper's Sync to Mobile feature, click on the 'Sync' icon at the top of your Keeper screen. Click on 'iPhone®, iPod® or iPad®' and follow the prompts.
If you select 'Auto-Sync' on your mobile device, every time you login to Keeper on your Mac or mobile device, Keeper will display your most current records. All your Keeper records, whether on your Mac or mobile device, are encrypted using 128-bit AES cipher and stored in Keeper's secure Cloud Vault. The same security encryption is used while your data is in transit.
For assistance with Sync features, Contact Us.
Take your Keeper records to your other Mac computer(s). Simply download Keeper to your other Mac from the App Store. When prompted on your Mac, use the same Master Password from your existing Keeper account. To use Keeper's Sync to Other Computers feature, click on the 'Sync' icon at the top of your Keeper screen. Click on 'Other Computer' and follow the prompts as illustrated below.
Write down the code that appears on Step 3. Do NOT click the 'Enter Code' button! Doing so will remove any records on the computer. If you perform this step by accident, please Contact Us for assistance.
Click the 'Enter Code' button. When the prompt appears, click on 'Proceed'. Next, change the code to the one displayed on Computer A. At this point, both computers must show the same Code. Click 'Activate' to complete the Sync setup.
Create backup copies of the records that you store within Keeper to your hard drive, or import new records from plain text files with the Import/Export screen.
You can import several records at once in plain text through a Comma Saparated (.csv) file or a Tab-Delimited (.txt) file. Once you import these files into Keeper, the data contained within them becomes encrypted and is protected by the Cloud Security Vault.
This function also allows you to export your records in plain text (.txt) file or a PDF (.pdf) file, which can be stored on your computer or printed out as a confidential document.
Customize your Keeper experience to reflect your personal style.
From your Keeper screen, click on 'View > Themes >' and select your favorite Keeper theme.
We recommend writing down your Master Password and storing it in a secret, safe location. We cannot help you access your Keeper Data Vault if you lose or forget your Master Password. To change your Master Password, go to 'Help > Reset Master Password' and follow the prompts.
If after changing your Master Password you encounter synchronization issues across your computers/devices, please Contact Us.
